“Our industry is often dominated by men”, says Benjamin Visser, founder and CEO of allygatr. That's why he came up with the idea of offering female founders a stage to present their innovations and visions in the HR tech sector. “We want to specifically promote women and make them visible. Diverse management teams often bring a different perspective and innovative strength, which is of great value to both the HR world and the economy as a whole”, says Visser in an interview with Gero Hesse from SAATKORN.
Together with the female accelerator Grace, allygatr is organizing the pitch event in the style of the popular TV shows ‘Shark Tank’ or ‘DHDL’ (short for ‘Die Höhle der Löwen’; the ed.) for the first time. The idea is to give the start-ups a stage and a tangible investment at the end.
Each of the five jury members brings an investment sum and therefore cash: This means that the start-ups can expect to receive at least 125,000 euros in investment at the end! The participating start-ups can also win expert coaching sessions, workspaces in the allygatr office and much more. So it's not just about hearing the ideas, but also about promoting the business.
When appointing the jury panel, it was important to us to have a diverse line-up. Each jury member is experienced either as a founder or investor (or both!) in the HR tech sector.
This is the #InspireHR jury (sorted alphabetically by first name):
Around 50 start-ups have applied for the Female Founders Stage. Our experts from #hrtechallyance have reviewed the applications and selected the top 5, which will pitch for their investment live in front of the jury and the audience in Berlin on 26 September.
These are the top 5:
